The Sixteenth great scholar and saint of Shri Uttaradi Matha was Shri Vedanidhi Teertharu. His name was Koratagi Pradyumnacharya prior to his sanyasa deeksha. Shri Vidyadheesha Teertharu swamiji handedover the reigns of the Matha at Vyasa Asharam. He was a great spiritual luminary with tremendous spiritual powers. He was adorned for his saintly character, profound scholarship and great yogic power by the virtue of the mantrasiddha of "Narayana Astakshari". Shri Vedanidhi Teertharu was honoured by the Nawab of Tiruchirapalli and granted some villages as a gift to the Matha. He was the recipient of many royal gifts.

Shri Vedanidhi Teertharu was a contemporary of Shri Raghavendra Teertharu who was a great spiritual guru of the time incarnated for the upliftment of the satvic soul and who possessed uparalleled mastery over Madhwa shastra. Shri Raghavendra Teertharu heard much about the Swamiji particularly of his miracles. Shri Raghavendra Swamiji happend to meet Shri Vedanidhi Teertharu at Kaumbhahonam.

Shri Vedanidhi Teertharu ruled the pontificate throne of Shri Uttardi Matha for a short period of 3 years 9 months and entered the Brindavana during the year 1635 AD in Pandarpur.
