Lord Shri Narayana moved primordial matter into
numerous forms in an evolutionary process and gave the infinite souls,
who were under his care from unoriginated times, physical bodies suited
to their nature, karma and effort. He created the earth with its
Sadhana Bhoomi, i.e., merit recognition centre. Side by side, in order
to bless the souls for the attainment of happiness here and here after,
by the propagation of fundamental truths, Lord Shri Narayana himself
incarnated as Shri HAMSA who is also called Shri UTTARA.
Lord Shri Hamsa also known as Shri Uttara founded
the ADI Math, i.e., the original Math for guiding humanity and kings
who were wielding the world in the righteous path.
The Charama Slokas of Shri Uttaradi Math which are
verses disclosing the perpetual succession of pontiffs who adorned the
said seat, begin with Shri Hamsanamaka Paramatma himself. This proves
that the Almighty Shri Lord Narayana, during the Avatar as Shri Hamsa
founded this ADI Math. The charama slokas must have been originated
from the time of Shri Chaturmukha Brahma who succeeded Shri HAMSA,
known as Shri UTTARA, in the pontificate of Shri UTTARA-ADI Math.
Lord Shri Hamsa gave the idols of Shri Moola Rama
and Shri Sita to his first disciple-pontiff, Shri Brahma, for the daily
worship in Shri UTTRADI MATH. Accordingly Shri Brahma worshipped Shri
Moola and Shri Sita for a very long time in his capacity as pontiff of
Shri Uttaradi Math.
